I worked out a nifty way to transfer the exact line work from the main wall (at West End) onto the panel (in my Bellbowrie Studio) by using strips of paper marked up with registration points. It had to be paper that had no flexibility – that didn’t expand or contract with humidity levels.
Finished drawing up all the line work on the in-fill panel in the studio today, using my paper registration method.
Here’s a video of the work in progress …
Then I painted the tonal underpainting on the surrounding stone blocks, to match the main walls.
The in-fill panel is now caught up to the same stage as the painting on the main wall.
Back to site tomorrow.
